2023 ARTIST MARKET JUDGES

2D Jury 

Amy Boehms

Amy is a painter, multimedia artist, muralist and art educator in Carrollton, Georgia. She began
creating art at an early age, gaining inspiration from her grandmother and mother, who were both
artists.  Amy realized her love for teaching children while working at the South Fulton Arts Center and
serving as a traveling art teacher to community centers throughout the area. This led her to study
painting and receive a BA in Art Education at the University of West Georgia.

For 32 years, Amy has fulfilled her life’s purpose by teaching art education to tens of thousands of
children through public schools and camps.  Her most rewarding moments have been in the art room
facilitating children’s curiosity, creative process, and self-discovery. She has worked with students of all
ages, as well as serving as a supervising teacher to college interns and mentor to new art teachers.

Amy has received numerous professional honors including UWG Mentor Art Educator of the Year, Star
Teacher, and Teacher of Honor. She was also selected to study Art & Architecture through the Georgia
Humanities Council, and has studied art history in Greece, New York, and Chicago.  
In addition to teaching, Amy is a working artist and exhibits in Atlanta and in the West Georgia area.

Molly Downey Newton

Molly has taught Visual Art in Middle Schools for the past 10 years. She currently
teaches at Peachtree Charter Middle School in DeKalb County. Before that she was the Visual Art
teacher at Chamblee Middle School in DeKalb County. 

Teaching is Molly’s second career. Molly attended the University of Georgia and received a BFA in
Graphic Design. She was a graphic designer and art director for several years, including in a large
photography studio, which is where she met her husband, who is a professional photographer. After
having her second son, and volunteering in the Art room at their school, she decided to go back to
school and get an Art Education degree from Brenau University in Gainesville, GA.

Brad Newton

Brad has been a commercial and corporate photographer in Atlanta since 1985.
In his long and varied career Brad has photographed celebrities, CEO’s, cookbooks, annual reports, and
advertising campaigns. Along the way Brad has developed into a magnificent husband and father to two
remarkable sons. Brad is an avid photographer, woodworker, birdwatcher, painter, and great neighbor.
He loves to walk his dogs with a cigar.

Carisa Griffin

Carisa has been an Artist and Art Educator for 30+ years. Throughout the years, she has taught all
school ages including adults. Currently she is teaching at Mill Creek HS in Gwinnett County. She was a
graduate from Northern Kentucky University. earning a B.A. in Art Education (majoring in Ceramics and
Drawing). a M.A. Ed. in Art Education (with a concentration in Painting) from Piedmont University. Her
current work is watercolors, acrylics, mixed media, and creating handmade art journals. As an art
educator she is very passionate to share her love of art with her students and help them to express
themselves through art, be creative thinkers, and have a deep appreciation of art.

Charles Pinckney

Charles has been working as a metal smith for nearly 40 years. His passion for metalwork is
seen in every piece that he produces. His work not only represents his love for jewelry design, but also
explores his childhood memories and personal journey. Charles painstakingly designs and crafts his
work with great attention to detail, resulting in works of art that are one-of-a-kind treasures. Charles
lives and works in Athens, GA.

Jennifer Sutton

Jennifer Sutton’s universal approach and her palette for uniqueness stem from her childhood. Growing
up in Lorain Ohio also known as the International City, having over 70 different nationalities residing
there, she was exposed to art and culture early. Her efforts to share her experiences led to the founding
of Art Meso International Art and Fashion Exhibition. First being an artist and designer, she wanted to
create a platform to highlight her artwork and designs along with other fellow artists to share with the
World. Art Meso has been featured on Comcast Demand, Channel 11 Alive, Fox News, Good Day
Atlanta, USA Today, and many more. In 2017, because of Jennifer’s efforts Art Meso received a
proclamation from the City of Atlanta proclaiming that October 7th is Art Meso Day. Jennifer has
brought art and talent from over 15 countries to the United States.
Her passion for art, fashion, and people has led her to give back to others by participating in the Dress
for Success program and conducting an art and fashion program for Camp Helen and Makeovers for the
Homeless. She is known for her extensive influence in the community by mentoring young adults
focusing on self-esteem and confidence by becoming beautiful from the inside out. She began doing Live
Art Exhibits for organizations such as; Hosea Feed the Hungry, Make-A-Wish Georgia and many others.
Jennifer was invited as the United States Art and Fashion Ambassador to the Month of Design in
Ljubljana Slovenia where she spoke about the International Art and Fashion Industry and Public
Relations. Jennifer Sutton has served as a jury judge member for the Month of Design 2018, 2019, 2020,
and 2021. She served on the SFAI Committee for the Serenbe Institute. With over 20 display screens, she
is the first artist to exhibit at the New York, NJ Port Authority. The exhibit that was located across from
New York Times ran from August 2021-October 2021. Jennifer brought Art Meso to the Avenue of
Americas for the first time in New York City in the summer of 2022. Art Meso debuted in Times Square
and was visited by over 1,000 tourists and art|fashion enthusiasts.
